The Wolverhampton Drug and Alcohol Liaison Team (DALT), a partnership between Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust (BSMHFT), The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust, Aquarius and Nacro was recently recognised for their hard work and success.
They were rewarded for their ground breaking and innovative work with The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust. The award was made for the work of Carolyn Musgrave, Team Manager, and Debby Poole, DALT nurse, who set up the alcohol service in January 2012.
The annual Royal Awards, hosted by The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust, recognise the contribution of staff to the work of the trust and honour individuals and teams whose exceptional performance has made a real difference to services for patients. The award was presented to the team by the Trust’s Chief Executive, David Loughton, CBE, at a special ceremony in April 2014.
Patrick Reihill, Service Manager for Addictions at BSMHFT, said: “The service has been hugely successful since its launch in 2012. It has already demonstrated outcomes by reducing alcohol related deaths in Wolverhampton and is highly regarded by external stakeholders too.”
