Wolverhampton Substance Misuse Service is a free, confidential service for the people of Wolverhampton. We help anyone who is concerned about their own drinking or drug use – or someone else’s.
We go out of our way to help people move their lives on. We help them put the problems they have with drugs and alcohol behind them and to get the skills they need to find a job and rebuild their relationships. All of our assessments are free and confidential. Working in both one-to-one and group settings, our staff help people to improve their health and well-being. We also offer medical help to prevent blood-borne viruses and run a needle exchange scheme.
We know that drug and alcohol problems stretch far and wide. So our work goes beyond the individual – it focuses on families and whole communities too.
Our fully qualified staff, along with our volunteers and mentors, are trained to help with the full range of problems associated with drugs and alcohol. After addressing any immediate concerns, we work with people to bring about the more permanent changes they want in their lives. We also advise professionals like GPs, pharmacists, social workers and probation officers so that they can work more effectively on drug and alcohol related issues.
With one call to our service you will have access to the information, advice, support or treatment that you need, whether you are a young person, an adult, whether it is for you, a family member, a friend, someone you care for, or someone you work with.
Call us or visit one of our centres – you don’t need to make an appointment.
